Super Easy 1 Hour Pullover Dress Tutorial

Super Easy 1 Hour Pullover Dress Tutorial

Today we will be making a super easy dress as shown below.  I know you are thinking a dress tutorial its freezing outside!  Well summer is going to be here sooner than you think, I'm always planning ahead.  This great light weight cotton dress will be perfect for any occasion and can be dressed up with fancier fabrics for more of a formal wear too.

Fabric's you will need (size 4t)

1/2 Yard of Fabric for the Bodice
1 Yard Fabric For the Skirt

You will also want a well fitting shirt to make the bodice.

Now I did forget to take pictures of this part.  But all you need to do is grab your shirt fold you fabric in half with the fold being the top of the shoulders.  Trace a large rectangle starting at the top of your shirt and down just about two inches from the bottom of the arm hole.  Make sure when you trace around the sides you add extra for seam allowance and for growth if you have a little one that is growing fast!

For the next part you will need to cut the hole for the neckline.  I used the shirt's neckline with a half inch extra for seam allowance.  You will also want to cut a 1 1/2 Inch Slit in the front.  As shown above.

Then with right sides together sew around the neckline.

Then you want to turn right sides out and press.  Remember to always iron your seams for a finished professional look.

At this point you will want to fold under your sides for this will be your arm holes.  Then stitch down the sides and around the neck.  I used a coordinating pink thread for this part.

Now you will want to cut your Skirt fabric.  I made my skirt fabric pretty long so you may want to shorten yours or keep if you like the length.  I cut two rectangles 20x24 Inches.

Now you will want to gather your fabric at the top the 20 inch side. If you need help on gathering please check it out Here

Then pin right sides together and them together. Do this for both sides.

Remember to press all your seams!

Now pin your right sides together and sew up the sides go up the bodice one inch. As you can see better from the next picture.

Now all you need to do is fold over the bottom and hem the skirt and your done! Wasn't that easy, and quick. Hope you Enjoyed!
